Pizza for geeks is ok, what about the rest of us?

This falls under the "you can't make this stuff up even if you wanted to" category. Apparently Google hires students to buy pizzas for computer science majors. Yes, you read that right. The company has Google Pizza Ambassadors who do this work. I got the link through The Kept-Up Academic Librarian, who got his from Search Engine Watch. See also the actual job post from Google. Now if someone did something like that for librarians and students in library school, that would be an idea. Oh well.

Especially those of us posing as geeks and helping with the creation of future geeks.

I mean here I sit, starving while I eat nuts & raisins, broadcasting a distance ed class on Foundations of Info Processing in LIS while the prof talks about, and shows, the use of python, linux, pico, programming, and so forth.

Man, can I smell those pizzas about now....

I think in your case, you are doing more than "posing." It sounds like actual hard work (not that what the geeks do is not hard work either). Maybe we can send a Google Pizza Ambassador your way. Thanks for stopping by.
