Booknote: Irish Pub Cooking

Irish Pub Cooking. Bath, UK: Love Food, 2009. ISBN: 978-1-4075-6447-0.

Genre: nonfiction
Subgenre: cookbooks, Irish, pubs
Format: hardcover
Source: Berea branch of the Madison County (KY) Public Library

This is a cookbook featuring traditional Irish pub food. The book's premise is to "show you how to
recreate popular Irish pub dishes in your own home" (from book's back cover). There are not easy recipes, but with some effort I think some of them can be made at home.

Book has four chapters:

  • Appetizers and snacks
  • Entrees
  • Vegetables and side dishes
  • Desserts and drinks

For me, the highlight of the book was in the full color photographs. The photos sure make the food look very good. Overall, I liked this one. That roast been on rye toast is one recipe I'd love to try out.

3 out of 5 stars.
