As in many anthologies, the quality of the stories varies, and some are better than others. These stories mostly fill small gaps in the classic Star Wars continuity. For example, the Yoda story takes place right before he meets Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back. The Leia story tells how she became Boushh the Bounty Hunter as part of the plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt.
The stories blend action and adventure. They don't depart much from the classic continuity. In other words, the stories are nice but not really essential. The volume is a nice and easy read. The stories have a relatively fast pace, and they wrap up at the end, setting up events to come. The art in the series is very good. The covers are particularly well made. In addition, between the comics, there is an essay on each character featured.
Overall, I liked this one, but it is not a big deal. Star Wars fans will likely enjoy it as it can add details to certain classic story elements. For libraries, if you already collect Star Wars comics, you may want to add this one too.
3 out of 5 stars.
