Booknote: Garfield Fat Cat 3-Pack, Vol. 20

Jim Davis, Garfield Fat Cat 3-Pack, Volume 20. New York: Ballantine Books, 2018. ISBN: 9780425285718.

Genre: comics and graphic novels
Subgenre: humor, cartoons, children and YA
Format: omnibus edition, paperback
Source: Berea branch of the Madison County (KY) Public Library

This volume contains three previously published books:

  • Garfield Goes to His Happy Place: His 58th Book.
  • Garfield The Big Cheese: His 59th Book
  • Garfield Cleans His Plate: His 60th Book.
I've read all three volumes before, but it has been a while. It was nice to reread these comics again. Highlights include:

  • Garfield watching the baby laughter channel. I really like that idea, by the way.
  • Garfield watching B-movies on TV. Some of the movie ideas are quite amusing.
  • Jon does spring cleaning. . . for his wallet.
Overall, this is a nice collection. I found myself really liking it, in part because these comics are comfort reading for me. I also really liked some of the comics dealing with observations about life. Additionally, this volume features some bonus art to transition from book to book. All strips in the volume are in color. The volume is a good value for libraries with comics and graphic novel collections.

4 out of 5 stars.
