Booknote: Garfield's Sunday Finest

Genre: graphic novels and comics

Format: paperback
Source: Berea branch of the Madison County Public Library

This is a collection of Sunday comic strips over a 35 years period. It was published in 2013. Jim Davis also includes some rough sketches and some commentary on some of the comic strips. I personally liked this collection a lot better than the standard collections. This is probably because the author is selecting his best plus these are Sunday strips, which tend to be more developed than short daily strips. In addition, the strips are in full color, making them a pleasure to read. Overall, this is a very nice oversize volume fans and casual readers can enjoy. Among the highlights: sampling the food while cooking, Garfield with Pokey (his teddy bear), and Garfield hints to Jon to turn on the furnace. Overall, this is a pretty good collection, and I really liked it.

4 out of 5 stars.
