This volume is part of Marvel's Epic Legends Collection. This one looks at the period before events of Episode I: the Phantom Menace. The volume highlights various stories of the Jedi including Mace Windu. The stories vary in length and quality. Some are very short such as "Stones," an early tale of Mace Windu. Others go over multiple issues. This volume can seem a bit less cohesive than other volumes. The story quality is also a bit inconsistent. The art varies given the various artists involved in the project, but overall it is pretty good.

Overall I liked this volume but it is one to borrow.
