After the fall of the Empire, Carnor Jax, a member of the Imperial Guard, betrays the Emperor and the other guardsmen. Fiercely loyal guard Kir Kanos vows to avenge his master. Circumstances make Kanos have to work with the Rebel Alliance in order to get Jax.

This volume collects issues 1-6 of the series. This is a fairly light story with not much substance. It does give glimpses into the lore and training of the Imperial Guard. Otherwise it is a story of revenge leading to a final confrontation. The art is good for the comics. On another positive, this is one of those stories before Disney bought Star Wars and drove it to the ground.

Overall, I liked this one. It was a quick and light read. It was an OK story in Star Wars featuring other than the usual main characters.

3 out of 5 stars.
